Description
Not sure what all the hype is about raw milk? First and foremost is the vast difference in the taste and quality of the product. This raw milk is not homogenized, so the cream will rise to the top of your jug. There’s no removal of cream either so this raw milk has a full 4% or even 5% butterfat. After each day’s milking, your milk is filtered and stored in a cooled stainless steel milk tank. Your milk spends no more than 60 hours in the milk tank before going into your milk jug. How’s that for straight from the cow?
The Cows
Speaking of the cows, you’ll notice the cows on our farm are much more colorful than the normal black and white ones you’d expect. You’ll see red ones, brown ones, and even some speckled ones. This variety of cattle is hand-selected to produce the richest and tastiest milk from the fresh pasture on our farm. Plus they have the A2 genetics that make their milk easier to digest if you have issues with dairy.
Safety
You may be concerned about the safety of raw milk. Doesn’t pasteurization make milk safe to drink? Yes, but it also destroys all the flavor and benefits of drinking milk. The raw milk you buy from our farm is a safe food. If you’ve been to our farm, you know that we do everything we can to ensure that we have healthy cows, clean equipment, and a quality product for you and your family to enjoy. We drink our milk too and want to make the best and safest product possible. If you have any more specific questions, please feel free to ask, or come visit the farm to see for yourself.
Availability
You will not be able to get milk in February and March while the cows are taking their annual maternity leave. The babies get all of the first few milkings and then once the mother is giving enough extra, we will start to bottle it for customers.
